Ghost Hunters and a smoking crack

Okay - I'm detained by this show for the next hour and 10 minutes. Then it's off to bloggy land & email reply land. I just wanted to share this with you before I forget. I'm good at that, forgetting. I hear or experience something that is very blog worthy & then I forget to post about it. By the time I remember what it was I wanted to post, I forget the dialogue or would mess it up badly enough that it just sounds dumb.

The other night Andy admitted to me that he knew what a "butt crack" was. Here's how it went:

Dew: I know what a butt crack is.

Me: Really? What is it?

Dew: It's the top of a person's butt. (all the kids are around, so this is followed by some giggling)

Me: Like what you see when a plumber bends to fix your sink?

Dew: (just stays silent wondering what the hell I'm talking about, because who hires a plumber any more?)

Me: Okay, if you know what butt crack is, then what does it mean if someone says you're smoking crack?

Dew: (expressing extreme pride in his knowledge) It's when your butt is on fire.

Insane giggles come from all of us because this is so literally an example of how kids say the darndest things. The typical smoking crack jokes ensue followed by so much laughter. As wrong as it was, it really was a lot of fun. I'm thinking this boy must have overheard a telephone conversation where my BFF and I were talking about phrases we use, but shouldn't. "You're smoking crack" was one of those.

And that, my friends, is why I'll never be mom of the year.

Hilarious. If I sit here any longer I'll be smokin' crack.

My oldest used to say Son of a... and just stop. She would just say those three words all the time. I had to break us both of that habit.

Thank you very much for that laugh! That was freaking awesome!!

*don't worry, as my 2 yr old was throwing a fit from hell, my 6 yr old proceeded to tell me, 'mom, he is just pissed off'.

Yeah, nice!

*You're a #1 mom in my book!!

But you all have fun and laugh together and that's way more important than being Mrs. Perfect Mommy.
Seriously. WAY.

Better to laugh and love than be uptight Mum of the Year. My 5yo opened her sheet bag at kindy the other day, remembered she had left her toy at home and said "oh SH#t" (so they told me later)

I am a Ghost Hunters fan too although sometimes I turn off re-runs b/c Steve gets on my nerves. Anyway, I think your smoking crack was a good early segue to talking about saying no to drugs. ;)

Oh my gosh! You totally almost had a "don't do drugs" convo...ha ha...I was about to take notes.

But his is better. Ha ha...

I seriously laughed out loud, girl...and then I read the comments and laughed some more...

And you KNOW I really love Ghost Hunters too...it's MY show. The world completely stops for me for that hour. :D
